The state-sponsored promotional video for Egypt's large-scale solar energy power plant, 

which stood out at COP27, was produced by a domestic company  

The domestic company MetaEgypt, represented by Kang Ju-hyun, collaborated with the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and Tourism, a government entity, to produce a promotional video for one of Egypt's national projects, the solar energy development project. This video showcases the progress of the project, which is part of Egypt's national initiatives, and has been implemented in the vast Benban solar power complex (approximately 37.2 km2) in the Aswan region of southern Egypt since 2018. It vividly captures the development status of 27 museums and cultural heritage sites selected as demonstration sites for self-sustaining solar photovoltaic cell-based power generation, utilizing the Rooftop PV method.

The promotional video premiered for the first time on November 11 at 2:00 PM in the Blue Zone, the official venue of the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP27) held in Sharm El Sheikh, southern Sinai, Egypt, from November 6 to 18. At this event, representatives from the Ancient Artefacts Preservation Committee, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Industrial Modernization Center (IMC) under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) gathered and signed MOUs related to collaboration. This MOU ceremony held significant weight as part of Egypt's Vision 2030, known as the Sustainable Development Strategy, contributing to the country's long-term economic development plan until 2030.

The video also raises awareness among global audiences about the realities of climate and environmental change caused by carbon dioxide emissions and depicts the future Earth's appearance with a 2-degree temperature rise. Above all, the MetaEgypt promotional video stands out for its graphic representation of the concept of a "<3000-year pollution-free civilization>," portraying the beauty of ancient Egypt.

The significance of this promotional video contract goes beyond simple video production, as it diversifies cultural exchanges between nations. Following the export of domestically produced K9 self-propelled howitzers and Hyundai Rotem's subway project earlier this year, the successful bid for the construction of the $3 billion El Dabaa nuclear power plant project by the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power in September further extends the amicable relationship between Korea and Egypt into the cultural realm. Additionally, regarding the video production, Ambassador Dalia Abdel Parra of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and Tourism expressed gratitude to Kang Ju-hyun, the representative of MetaEgypt, conveying appreciation for the ongoing friendly relations and cultural exchange between the two countries. She also emphasized the pioneering role Kang plays as both a representative of MetaEgypt and a scholar in introducing ancient Egyptian culture, history, and language to South Korea.

MetaEgypt, established in 2019, originated from the Egyptian Hieroglyphics Research Institute. It operates as a content and video media company, focusing on various cultural education industry contents, including projects related to Egypt and lectures on ancient Egyptian civilization and hieroglyphics. Since 2021, MetaEgypt has been developing mobile/tablet applications in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
